strength = quality of life
Proceeding with the assumption that most individuals lift weights so they can hopefully add some muscle and lose some fat, why does the amount of weight lifted matter? Well, the good news and sometimes bad news is that the human body is a malleable, adaptable creature. The lifting of weights in the gym is required to created a stimulus to the muscle tissue, in the hopes that it will grow. Trouble is, after a brief period of time, the muscle and nervous system in charge of the muscle will adapt to accommodate the new stimulus being introduced. This is why you will become nice and sore for the first few times after beginning an exercise program. All of this is welcomed and expected. Now the next part of the story is where MANY people get lost in confusion.
