The Problem: Subluxations

Picture
When one or more of your vertebrae shift out of optimal position, causing them to be too rigid (or not rigid enough), this is called a subluxation. This can put pressure on your spinal nerves, strain your muscles, and potentially damage the soft tissue in surrounding areas. Pain, decreased range of motion in multiple areas of the body, and an overall decrease in health and wellness often ensues. Trauma to our bodies in the form of disease, physical accidents, and even normal life experiences, like pregnancy, moving into a new home, or starting a new job can all cause subluxations. When your body is healthy and functioning at 100%, you feel well, are pain-free, and have a better quality of life. Removing subluxations will help you to experience a higher level of health and wellness.

The Solution: Chiropractic Adjustments

Combining many years of experience and expertise, our Doctors of Chiropractic use a variety of “manual” adjustment methods to correct subluxations in your spine and improve joint movement in other areas of the body. By returning your vertebrae to optimal position and increasing range of motion, we can help you achieve better health and wellness. Below is a brief description of four of the techniques we employ.

The Experience: Our Techniques

Diversified- Using their years of experience and expertise, our Doctors of Chiropractic identify any subluxations by feeling your spine. Once these areas of dysfunction are found, our Doctors use a particular hand arrangement that allows them to deliver a manual thrust in a specific direction and intensity. Our Doctors are highly trained professionals who have collectively treated thousands of patients using this technique.
Cox Technique (Flexion-Distraction)- While laying face down on one of our special tables, one of our Doctors places one hand on your spine while simultaneously lowering the half of the table under your legs. The Doctor then moves this half of the table in a fluid up and down pattern, alternately stretching and relaxing your spine. This process gently separates your vertebrae and allows greater range of motion in most patients.
Bio Energetic Synchronization Technique (B.E.S.T.)- B.E.S.T. is a technique that is used by our Doctors to help balance the energy in your body and to allow your body to heal itself. By touching particular pressure points in a specific order, this technique restores balance in the nervous system.

Activator Method®- One of our Doctors will begin your adjustment by identifying subluxations and any areas of concern, just as they do when performing a traditional chiropractic adjustment. Once the problem vertebra(e) is identified, the Doctor places the Activator®, a small, spring-loaded tool designed specifically for Chiropractors, on the misaligned spinal bone. The tool delivers a low-force thrust to the vertebra in question, which helps to bring it back to optimal position. When using the Activator®, our Doctors are able to move quickly from one spot to another, decreasing your body’s tendency to tense up. The Activator® can also help to adjust other joints in the body.
